«What if you were the one to extend the invitation?»

The friends we’d like to see more often may simply be waiting for someone to extend an invitation.

There’s no need to wait for a special occasion. Just being together is occasion enough.

Homemade elderflower lemonade

Description

When I have guests round, I like to get as much as possible ready the day before. For this elderflower lemonade, I’d already washed and chopped the fruit the night before and stored it in the fridge. On the day of the party, all I had to do was pour the water, elderflower syrup and lemon juice into the dispenser, add the prepared fruit and finish with a few ice cubes just before the guests arrived.

The result is a light, fragrant and very refreshing drink, perfect for a summer buffet, a barbecue or a family gathering.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preparation
  2. Pour the water into a large drinks dispenser.
  3. Add the elderflower syrup, then stir.
  4. Stir in 120 ml of lemon juice and taste. Add more lemon juice if you’d like a tangier lemonade.
  5. Add the lemon slices, strawberries and fresh mint.
  6. Leave in the fridge for at least an hour to allow the flavours to develop.
  7. Add the ice cubes just before serving.
  1. Advice

Not all elderflower syrups have the same strength or sugar content. It is therefore best to start with the smallest amount given, then adjust to suit your taste.

To save time when hosting a party, the fruit can be prepared the day before and stored in the fridge in airtight containers. On the day itself, simply assemble the drink a few hours before serving.

This lemonade can also be made using a mixture of still and sparkling water for an even more festive version.
