Cooking on summer holiday: my summer collection of recipes for large gatherings
Description
One, two, three weeks in a holiday home, family coming and going, often lots of people round the table… and almost every day the same question: What’s for dinner?
And, above all, that famous reply when I ask: «What would you like?» — «I don't know… whatever you say!»
So this year, I’ve set myself a Seasonal Menu, a bit like a restaurant menu, with all those recipes I love to cook in the summer when we’ve got a big group.
The idea is very simple: instead of trying to work out what to cook every day, we now have our little collection of summer recipes right in front of us. And above all, Anyone can take part : Everyone looks at the menu and chooses whatever takes their fancy.
And as I find it really handy, I’ve also put it together for you in A4 PDF to download and print for free.
Of course, This is definitely not a meal plan. During the holidays, there are barbecues, leftovers, dinner parties, restaurants, impromptu meals… and those days when nobody feels like cooking!
The menu is simply there for those days when you’re looking for inspiration. You have a look, and choose whatever takes your fancy at the time, depending on how many people are dining or what ingredients you have to hand.
Here you’ll find a bit of everything that makes up our summer cuisine: plenty of Italian and Mediterranean dishes, my Austrian recipes, those of my father and my grandmother Odile, fish, vegetarian dishes, small plates, salads, side dishes and, of course, a few desserts.
