Préparation:
Bring the water and sugar to the boil with the spices.
Add the pitted and halved plums and cook, stirring occasionally, until the fruit is half disintegrated and the skins begin to curl up.
Pour the compote into the jars to about 1-2 cm below the rim. Clean the rim if necessary and seal immediately with the screw cap.
Place the sealed jars in a large pot and fill it with water. The jars should be halfway in the water. Simmer in the boiling water for about 30 minutes.
Then leave the jars to cool.
Tip: You can also boil down the fruit in the oven. Place the jars in an ovenproof dish and fill it with water. The jars should stand about 2 cm deep in the water. Heat the oven to 80 C and leave the jars in it for 30 minutes.
The plum compote can now be stored for up to 6 months.
