You’re on holiday. Some friends or family are in the area and, naturally, you’d like to see them.
But you’re in a holiday home, with few kitchen bits and bobs, an oven you’re barely familiar with… and no desire to spend your day in the kitchen.
It was precisely for this sort of situation that I came up with this menu.
A proper summer dinner for 8 people – attractive and smart enough for entertaining, but achievable with just a few bits and pieces and, above all, plenty of preparation done in advance.
A refreshing starter that you can prepare several hours in advance, a roast fish with potatoes that the oven practically cooks all by itself, and a frozen dessert that can be left in the freezer for several days.
By the time your guests arrive, the hard work is already done.
