Grandma's apple sauce and instructions for preserving (traditional & Thermomix)
I am very lucky to have an apple tree in my garden. Thanks to the previous owners who planted it!

Feel free to follow me on Facebook for traditonal recipes and for Thermomix recipes and videos on Instagram and Youtube!

Ingredients:

Preparation:

Place the apples, lemon juice, sugar, vanilla and the cinnamon (if using) in a large saucepan or casserole dish.

Cover and cook over a medium heat for about 10 minutes (adding a little water if necessary), stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and starting to fall apart.

Once the apples are cooked, remove from the heat and puree the mixture with a hand blender until smooth. Alternatively, mash the apples with a fork for a chunkier consistency.

Store: Pour the apple sauce into sterilized jars and seal tightly.
For preserving: Place the sealed jars in a large pan of boiling water (the water should cover 2/3 of the jars) and simmer for 30 minutes. Leave the jars to cool and store in a cool place.

The applesauce can be kept for up to a year if properly sealed!
